Welcome to Miss April's House
I am a Christian homeschooling mom, and I have been very happily married for 26 years to my best friend. I believe children are a precious gift from God, and I have been providing child care in my home for 10 years.
I believe children learn best by playing and copying the behavior that is modeled for them by the people they are around the most, whether adults or other children. I provide consistent, comfortable routine in a family atmosphere. We have lots of supervised free play in which the children are able to choose age-appropriate toys that interest them. We try to go outside often for free play, if the weather cooperates.
I will do my best to ensure the safety, comfort, health, and happiness of all children in my care at all times and will present them with the opportunity to learn at their own pace.
Every day, we learn through a variety of activities, which may include reading, arts and crafts, singing and music, educational toys and videos, outdoor play, and fun. Because I homeschool my own children, our home has a very educational atmosphere, although I do not have a formal preschool program. My home has a large play room for the children, educational toys and books, a computer with educational games, and a fenced back yard with a swing set, play fort, and slides. I'll supply your child with breakfast, a healthy lunch, and an afternoon snack.
